Custom fields can work across Contact, Automation Workflows, and WhatsApp Message Templates in the following ways:

Custom fields can work in both Magic Forms and WhatsApp message templates, enhancing personalization and automation. Here's how:

1. Custom Fields in Magic Forms:

  • Data Collection: Custom fields allow you to collect additional, specific information from users, such as preferences, contact details, or responses to questions.

  • Dynamic Form Behavior: You can use custom fields to tailor the form experience based on user input. For example, a dropdown field might trigger additional fields or actions based on the user's choice.

  • Automations: Once the form is filled out, the information captured in custom fields can trigger actions, such as adding the user to a specific workflow or sending personalized responses.

2. Custom Fields in WhatsApp Message Templates:

  • Template Personalization: Custom fields allow you to personalize the WhatsApp message templates. For example, you can add placeholders for variables like customer name, order number, appointment date, etc., which get dynamically replaced when sending messages.

  • Automated Responses: Custom fields can trigger automated WhatsApp messages when certain conditions are met (e.g., sending a reminder based on a date field in the form).

How Form Data is Linked to Contacts:

Form Submission:

When a user fills out a Magic Form, the information from the custom fields (e.g., name, phone number, email, preferences) is captured.

Contact Creation/Update:

If the form submission is from a new user, a new contact will be created in the system with all the data from the form. If the user already exists in your contact list (e.g., matching phone number or email), the existing contact is updated with the new information from the form.

Viewing Collected Data:

Contact Profile: The information from the custom fields will be visible within the contact's profile, showing all the details gathered from the form (e.g., name, phone number, selected service, appointment date, etc.).

Custom Fields in Contacts: You can also use custom fields directly in the contact profile to store specific details that are crucial for follow-ups or marketing efforts.
